πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“ βž• πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“ Running a business requires hard work, knowledge, and perseverance... but also a fair share of serendipity. Alexandre Prot and Steve Anavi, friends from their school days who lost touch in adulthood, reunited by chance at a party and forged an incredibly effective business partnership β€” that's the essence of their story.πŸ’‘ Alexandre Prot teamed up with Steve Anavi to establish Smokio (acquired), a company specializing in intelligent, Bluetooth-connected electronic cigarettes. During his time at Smokio, Prot encountered the frustrations that ultimately inspired the creation of Qonto. He found existing banking solutions for businesses cumbersome, lacking modern tools, and time-consuming. This realization prompted Alexandre and Steve to interview numerous entrepreneurs and freelancers, confirming that these challenges were widely shared.πŸ’Ή Following the acquisition of Smokio by a Fortune 500 company in 2015, Alexandre and Steve founded Qonto with a vision to provide a straightforward, transparent financial solution for SMEs and freelancers, streamlining everyday banking, bookkeeping, and spending management.Today, Qonto stands as the leading European business finance solution, simplifying everyday banking, financing, bookkeeping, and spend management.πŸ’° The startup has raised €622 million from venture capitalists and business angels, including Valar, Alven, the European Investment Bank, Tencent, DST Global, Tiger Global, TCV, Alkeon, Eurazeo, KKR, Insight Partners, Exor Seeds, and Gaingels.πŸŽ– And to top it off, last week, Qonto co-founders Alexandre Prot and Steve Anavi were honored as Knights of the National Order of Merit by French Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire.Today Qonto is:πŸš€ 450,000 business customersπŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί Presence in 4 European markets🌱 Over 140,000 companies created with Qonto🏒 Operating from 5 officesπŸ’ͺ 44% female workforce🌍 Representing over 75 nationalitiesπŸ’Ž Successfully completed 2 acquisitions, merging with Penta & Regatehashtag#qonto hashtag#freelancefinance hashtag#personalfinance hashtag#frenchtech hashtag#startup hashtag#successtory hashtag#startupsuccess ... Anyone who has ever recruited, knows it can be a lengthy process with plenty of potential pitfalls – from πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ organizational hiccups to communication issues πŸ—£ between managers and the HR team. A few years ago, Pawel Smoczyk and Perry Oostdam came to the same conclusions while recruiting for their own company... and they decided to release a tool that would facilitate better recruitment: more transparent, better organized, and more collaborative. That's why in this part of our series, where we showcase Polish and French companies, we introduce you to Recrutee, now known as Tellent (formerly Recruitee), which debuted on the market in 2015.
